Homa Bay County has been allocated 1,058 vacancies, making it one of the largest beneficiaries in the recruitment drive.
The distribution is impressive: Homa Bay Town (107), Mbita (77), Ndhiwa (218), Rachuonyo East (117), Rachuonyo North (156), Rachuonyo South (119), Rangwe (131), Suba South (121), and Suba West (12).
Ndhiwa leads with 218 vacancies, highlighting the area’s large school population. For years, Homa Bay has faced a crisis of inadequate teachers, resulting in poor exam performance.
Parents and local leaders have celebrated the allocation, urging the TSC to ensure prompt deployment. The vacancies will significantly reduce the teacher-learner ratio and improve discipline in schools.
This allocation shows the government’s commitment to uplifting education in Nyanza counties.
