KCSE 2025 Results to Come Out in January 2026
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced that the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released in January 2026. The announcement ends speculation about when the results would be made public.
The delay to January aligns with the Ministry’s new academic calendar, allowing for adequate marking and moderation.
KNEC’s Preparedness and Marking Process
According to CS Ogamba, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has already mobilized experienced examiners and modernized its marking centers to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Marking will be both digital and manual to prevent errors. Once marking concludes, moderation will begin immediately to ensure fairness and consistency across subjects.
How to Check KCSE 2025 Results
Students will access their KCSE results through SMS shortcodes, the KNEC online portal, and via their respective schools. The ministry has also promised faster access through improved digital systems.
The results will determine university and college placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), expected to open applications soon after the release.
CS Ogamba assured candidates that the 2025 KCSE marking will be “transparent, fair, and technology-supported.” He added that integrity measures have been enhanced to curb exam malpractice and data leaks.
The release of KCSE 2025 results will officially close the examination season, paving the way for 2026 admissions across tertiary institutions.
